Barry Lopez is a writer of both fictional short stories and non-fiction works. His awards are numerous: American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lannan Foundation Award, John Burroughs Medal for Of Wolves and Men, and National Book Award for Arctic Dreams.
